Omar Licandro

I joined the School of Economics, University of Nottingham, as Professor of Macroeconomics in October 2015. I'm also Research Professor (on leave) at the Instituto de Análisis Económico (CSIC), which I joined in 2009. Previously, I was Associate Professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (1991-2001), Senior Researcher at FEDEA (1994-2001), and Professor at the European University Institute (2001-2009).


Since 2013 and 2014, I have been the Secretary General of the International Economic Association (IEA) and the Executive Secretary of the Research Institute for Development, Growth and Economics (RIDGE), respectively. I am an Associate Professor of the Barcelona GSE, and a Research Network Fellow of CESIfo. I have been Associate Editor of Annales d'Economie et de Statistique, Investigaciones Economicas and the Spanish Economic Review.
